Sustainability reporting enables organizations to consider their impacts of wide range of sustainability issues, enabling them to be more transparent about the risks and opportunities they face. It offers a way to measure how much we are impacting- positively or negatively. To provide a description on this concept, a workshop on “An Overview on Sustainability Reporting (GRI Perspective)” was held at The Wisdom Campus, Dhaka yesterday.
It was jointly organised by Sustainable Management System Bangladesh and Social Responsibility Asia (SR Asia) Bangladesh and conducted by Ms. Sumaya Rashid, Country Director- Social Responsibility Asia (SR Asia) Bangladesh.
Representatives from garments manufacturing industry, brand, buyer, audit company and NGO joined the workshop. Everyone shared their knowledges and discussed about the questions raised.
A sustainability report is a report published by a company or organization about the economic, environmental and social impacts caused by its everyday activities. A sustainability report also presents the organization’s values and governance model, and demonstrates the link between its strategy and its commitment to a sustainable global economy.
